    I suggest you get your own domain. I lost all my effort with blogger. Just use them for linking but not as your main site. Both can never be your property.

    you can start with blogger if you not have any basic about blogging yet...

    BTW if you have willing to learn from zero then mu suggestion is using wordpress and more specific is wordpress.org (self-host)

    you can find a lot of tutorial on net about wordpress
