It really bothers me that you have to pay to embed restricted videos like from The Daily Show, CNN, Hulu, etc on WordPress. Blogger lets you embed any videos you like for free. If I could not use Blogger, I would prefer b2evolution over WordPress.

Not a blogger fan at all. Sorry these sites (if not professionally done) look home made. Some people have crap all over the place, a thousand ads and stuff out of proportion. Total turn off. Wordpress is organized and if designed right, can look amazing. They have tons of plugins and widgets and just offer more for your money. Wordpress hands down. Blogger is for beginners.

I presume you are comparing free blogging platform and my preference is Wordpress over Blogger.

Blogs on Wordpress.com are moderated. Therefore you can't promote too much affiliate products or risk them closing your account.

With that being said, I will prefer self hosted Wordpress blog since it will support many useful plugins.

I intend to provide free hosting space. PM me for details since it is not related to this post.

Bringing way old threads back alive?
    Wordpress.

Can I ask a question? Why is this sticky?
Is it for newbies who ask the popular question Blogger vs Wordpress?

If so, this needs to be organized in some way. Evidence vs Evidence so that the reader can decide themselves. Obviously, not many people would read through 27 pages of equal amounts of Wordpress vs Blogger vouchers.

    Just go for the Wordpress.
The advantages of using Wordpress are-
    1. The ability to customize your blog theme,
    2. Wordpress is free, you only have hosting costs,
    3. Most hosts offer one click installation through Fantastico or Simple Scripts,
    4. The Wordpress community has developed hundreds of plugins to help improve the Wordpress functionality,
    5. You can choose from hundreds of free themes if you don't want to invest in a custom theme for your blog.

The advantages of using Blogger are-
    1. It's free,
    2. It's easy to use. The dashboard is easily navigated,
    3. Free domain name hosting,
    4. 1G of free photo space through Picasa.

You forgot with Blogger you can embed videos from any source in your posts for free. With WordPress you have to pay.

If you use Wordpress.com then no you can't use Videos, but if your self hosted on Wordpress it doesn't cost anything anyway. Blogger is great for people with no website experience, but their templates look plain, god awful colors and the pages are so longgggggggggggggggg windddddddddddddddddded that my eyes start to hurt. I see a blogger page and I run the other way. Get it professionally done and they would get more respect.

Blogger is mostly for newbies, it is easy to use, free and has a more agile management of the templates. But with wordpress can eventually create a blog much more functional, original and striking.

I haven't really tried wordpress yet. So I'll go with blogger. It's a nice platform for newbies to easily put their content on. :)
