I recommend Wordpress. It is very customizable with hundreds of ad ons with one quick automated installation of each of those. I'm a blogger and Wordpress definitely is the way to go. Trust me and everyone else.
Alright then does anyone know where i can get hosted wordpress for free? I cant host another atm. I cant do on wordpress.com since they do not allow commercial use.
Blogger will be the best choice for you since it is reliable, free, unlimited and better than wp for SEO. You can edit blogger's HTML if SEO is vital for you. If you still want wp, search "free hosting" on google then upload wp from wordpress.org. Even if you pay for hosting wp is not better than blogger for SEO. Because blogger is hosted by google. Can you find a better hosting?
Yeah i was thinking same thing. I can edit the html for SEO. But i was concerned it would not be as effective as it is for wordpress. Especially when it comes to individual meta tags on each page. Also i keep hearing that blogger is not that good in getting indexed despite the fact that it is being owned by google.
Yeah i was thinking same thing. I can edit the html for SEO. But i was concerned it would not be as effective as it is for wordpress. Especially when it comes to individual meta tags on each page. No, you can edit the HTML completely. Just turn your blog to the old HTML structure by clicking "Revert to Classic Template" link at the bottom of the "Edit HTML" page. However you are right about the individual pages. Also i keep hearing that blogger is not that good in getting indexed despite the fact that it is being owned by google. Blogger gives fresh sub-domains. But usually wp users have some old keyword domains with backlinks in their portfolio. Those domains are already indexed by search engines before starting to blog with wordpress. This is normal because the starting point is domain. You can do nothing if you don't have a domain. Anyway, even if those domains are not old, a main domain (.com/.net/.org, etc.) will have an advantage for the first few weeks over a sub-domain of blogspot.com. That's why someone might think that wp is indexed better than blogger. But it is not correct. You know, you can use your own domains at blogger. If you use the same domain at blogger instead of using it with wp, your pages will get indexed faster than wp. You can not test the difference for a main domain as you can't host a main domain at 2 different hosts at the same time. But you can test 2 different sub-domains. Publish the same content at sub1.example.com with wp and at sub2.example.com with blogger then observe which one is getting indexed faster. Of course both of your sub-domains can be de-indexed after a while because of the plagiarism. But this test will prove you that blogger blogs are crawled more frequently because of the google hosting or may be the feed technology of google using at blogger.
Now that really helps. Thanks a lot. I think ill go with blogger. Going to use it as a one or two page website rather than a blog.
For blog install wordpress is best, but if u looking for web 2.0 i think blogger is best. In blogspot you can put adsense ads.
For beginners please consider blogger as your plattform. Speccially to learn writing, usability, promotion and all concepts you need to know about maintain a blog. After months testing go ahead with wordpress cause it has no limits!!.
i have a blogspot and wordpress platform, in my opinion sometimes blogspot it's easy to get top rank in google when used certain keyword, get faster crawler and index, seo friendly but sometimes, wordpress also realy good in search engine and untill now i'm still using both of wordpress and blogspot
blogger in the beggining with the purpose to learn the basics to blog like a pro, then everyone has to pass to wordpress in order to achieve their targets.
That pretty much sums it up...Always better to invest the small amount of funding it takes to have your own hosted site. All your efforts will not vanish at the whim of another. Another consideration is that if you build quality sites you will be able to sell them at a later time if you choose. You can of course use the free site platforms for driving traffic to your own site.
I have worked on both blogger and wordpress, for newbies blogger is good and if you want to be professional then i will recommend Self hosted wordpress..
blogger vs wordpress both of them are easy to work but blogger is not more tools to design compare with wordpress
Wordpress may be good. But stability/performance of shared hosting will be low comparing to the blogger powered by Google.
