Blogger to WordPress?

Hi DP members,

I use to choose Blogger as my blogging platoform, but for some reasons, I wuld like to convert them to WordPress, with all the posts, comments and links keep in the same place.

Is it possible? If yes, please guide me to do so. Thanks.

 

Once you have your wordpress blog installed (obviously if you're going self hosted), just go to the wp-admin page then
Manage > Import > Blogger
Then follow on screen instructions.

 

Yes you can Import Blog on word press Blog

 

Then will the perm link for each post change or remain the same? It is very important as many of the inner pagers already got PR.

 

WP ADmin > Settings > Permalinks

set it before you do the import

 

Just do one thing. Login to your blogger account and under "Settings" tab, click on "Publishing" tab. Choose there custom domain and put your domain name and ftp settings there. This way all of your blogger traffic will get redirected to your new domain name and your page PR will remain intact for blogger pages.

 

Will there be any different steps when you're using self hosted ie. wordpress.org instead of wordpress.com ?
