Blogger taking your money??

I've never understood why ppl don't make their own sites.. why use someone else's bloghoster script anyways ? u can get a url for less then 10$ and for most blogs they'd use 2-5$ a month for hosting..

I've never understood why i see these name.blogspot with pr 4-5 :O
that could be your own site, but your just helping blogger,blogspot, etc.. out

 

no i'm sure they don't take any additional cut, it is a faster sign up process though.

 

White Monkey - Once you have your software installed (Wordpress has alreayd been mentioned and is great, and free) then it is all online just like blogger. You just set the blog up on your host and can then blog from any browser, anywhere by logging in just the same as blogger!

Ok thanks i'm going to give Wordpress a go, can anyone recommend a free host, i'm thinking of setting up my own server. Also will it give me a url like xxxxx.blogspot.com or will I have to register a domain?Thanks alot everyone...

 

Domain names are so chearp now there's really no reason not to have one... Most hosting companies will also deal with domain reg. There is a list of the top 50 registrars (according to Website Services Magazine) at http://www.small-business-forum.com/showthread.php?t=10482
