I had a blog that I only update once in a while but it had some really good articles and some nice incoming links. Anyway, today I realized that it's gone! Actually someone else has taken over my domain. I logged in and it said that my blog had been flagged for spam but that I could contact support to learn how to regain access (the really annoying part is that I was never contacted - a simple email could have avoided this entire situation). I just contacted support, but could really use some advice. Has anyone else regained their blogspot domain name? If so, how did you do it? What should I do to get my blog back? Please help because I really don't want to lose my articles (I didn't back them up) or the domain name which has some nice links coming in.
does this thing happen very Often ! because i'm worried about my blogs, they're the only income stream that i have right now !! this is pretty scary !
Jim my sympathies are with you. I don't think you gain regain this name again. Only lucky winner must have grabbed your domain unfortunately
I had this happen to two agricultural blogs during the past month. I guess a lot of articles about the income crisis in agriculture is considered spam because it talks about things like cost-price squeezes, and so forth. When you talk about it enough a computer algorithm might think it is some kind of get rich or loan/mortage scam site -- whereas a human being would immediately see the difference. I followed up with an email and gave my account information, but I never got a response. One of the farming blogs has been removed and the other is still on hold. The only good reason to use Blogger is that your blogs get indexed fast by Google. But, I think it makes more sense to use blogger for this limited purpose and make sure there are links to your real sites and/or real blogs. You should host those yourself so that you are not subject to some computer program's definition of spam.
This has been going on for sometime but its becoming way to common from the looks of things. From what I'm reading on here anyone can report your site as spam and because Bloggers anti-spam software is automatic your Blog gets removed without human approval. Now the folks at Blogger say if your Blog is deleted you should contact them to have it replaced - this usually takes one business day. What a complete pain in the arse for any blogger of webmaster!!! Take a look at their post http://buzz.blogger.com/2006/04/on-spam-removals.html The reason I can see as why to join Blogger is to apply for Adsense, you get approved a lot quicker. As for getting indexed on Google, Word Press can just be as fast.
Yes, this is happening to a TON of people. Which is why Wordpress is becoming the more popular blogging platform. I've made the move from Blogger to WP, and don't regret it one bit.
Word Press is way better than Blogger and more user friendly but I would advise using your own hosting account.
This happens very often. I personally think that there’s some foul play behind it but that’s just a suspicion. It’s funny that only hi traffic blogs get pulled down, never those crappy blogs that no one cares about.
The worst part is that the guy who has my name now seems to be an actual spammer. I flagged the blog, but it's still up... I'm going to try to find my articles in some internet archives somewhere. And get some people to delete links to my blog if I don't get it back soon. Don't feel too bad for me, it was not a high-income site. Just a personal one.
What's the URL? There must be more than one person flagging a blog for it to be pulled down. If it’s spam I’m more than happy to flag it.
All my blogs were flagged spam once.. One of them got deleted as well I requested a review of my blogs and all of them got whitelisted. The deleted one I recreated with the same url as it had 4PR. The content I could retrieve from the cached information.. otherwise its gone..
I had a gadget blog. It got PR5 and later was flagged as spam. I got very annoyed and deleted the whole thing. Never to use free hosting again. Blogger sucks. If you use it, be prepared to lose it.
I personally do host my websites, but I just wanted to test Blogger's capabilities. And it was doing pretty well at first. Anyway.. I'd say "stay away!" if your blogs are really important..
I think this is all rather stupid!!! Why don't people start using www.wordpress.com rather than blogger??? I understand perfectly well that people don't want to spend money on blogging but why do so many still persist with blogger. Every week we see yet another person complain about blogger deleting their blogs and still people insist on using that service. If you also think about all the down time it just isn't worth the bother.
Not everyone knows about this problem and by the time they find out, their own is already deleted. When I first started seeing the posts on the problem I switched to WP, I was taking no risks. As you said its a suspicion but by the looks of things its a serious problem that the Blogger team need to fix and until then I'll stick to WP and advise everyone else to do the same......pathetic if you ask me.
I checked with wordpress and I think you cannot put adsense on "free" account. and one more thing, couple of days back I noticed all my posts missing and error " page not found" on one of my "wordpress.com" site. I knew that kind of thing happens in blogger.com so I thought that my wordpress blog has also gone. But when I checked after sometime it came back just like that. Anyway I am on my way to host my blogs privately.
