blogger question

    was wondering in which section to post this question lol :D did not find any so posting in general :)
    when you create new blogspot blog, how do you disable LINKS section, where "google news" and "edit-me" links are.
    I go settings>>formatting>>show link field NO! but nothing happens, link section remains
