I am using blogger from last 4 years and i love it , i have tried Wordpress but i didn't liked it may be because now i am stuck to Blogger.com . Everyone say we need own hosting and domain name for professional blogging , But i don't think so if you can write good articles than visitor will find you themselves .
I agree what you had said.Content is still the most important your blog must have. It serves as the main actor where it draws the people.
Not really i just want to know the reason why people prefer wordpress because i tired both before and i think both are equally fine.
