Blogger or Wordpress - What is best for SEO?

I have learnt that Wordpress is the best for all the SEO configurations, but, does a Blogger blog performs better in Google search rankings?

I want to know which blog (hosted on Wordpress / Blogger) will reap quick benefits?

There is nothing like blogger vs wordpress for SEO. For a webmaster both are good and offer different platforms for their sites.

Out of the box neither are too good.

The beauty of Wordpress is that you can get loads of plugins that will really help your SEO campaign.

    Wordpress gets my vote

assuming i start two blogs (one in wordpress and one in blogger), with same efforts (same niche), which one would rank better in search engines?
I want to make a choice for my new blog. Blogger or Wordpress from SEO point of view?

Content is best for SEO ! Don't think about cms, seo, wordpress and all that shit but get to work ! I don't even go for seo anymore. I just make website with unique content and benefit from all those keywords I could never think people search :D

I agree, if you impress people with good content, search engines will follow. But, we need to do some basic seo for any blog - title tags, meta tags etc, right?

Well titles and meta I think is content also. Sure you can say it is SEO if you try and optimize titles and metas but I don't do that anymore. I just make nice short description of what is going on on that particular page of the website...

I'd go with WordPress. There's freedom to customize every single tag if you wanted. If you don't know anything about SEO WordPress themes there's always specialized free ones out there that maximize your SEO output. Or you could always opt for a custom-made one. With this the saying is always true, "You have to spend money to make money."

Both are equally good, I guess.... ultimately, it's the content that drives SEO... have a good content, then expect your visitors to come; in other word, that's SEO by nature.

I would go with wordpress. There is simply too many good plug-ins to help your SEO campaign with wordpress to pass up.

It depends on how you SEO for wordpress or blog...

IMHO, Wordpress is more complicated to work on than blogger if your a newbie to make blog...

Blogger is user-friendly than wordpress because blogger is easy to access...I have already used this two free hosts that's why I can say and I abandon my wordpress and continue to work on my blogger accounts... :D

I have two blogs. one in wordpress, one in blogspot..
Based from my own experience, its more easy to rank in google if you are using blogspot rather in wordpress but my images in wordpress easily get indexed

Wordpress is best. It can be heavily customized. ;) And there are many ways to be ranked top in Google. I also rank very good for many keywords.

    Blogger is crap. :D

Lookup Semiologic Pro. I know it's expensive as all get out. But, man does it work like magic. I have a dozen or so Semiologic wordpress blogs that all rank very well. Some of them are less than a month old, and are already getting 1-3k uniques a day.

So, with Semiologic Pro and Wordpress, you really can't beat it. As far as SEO goes, Blogger used to have some distinct advantages, these days it seems like Wordpress is much better optimized.

    JMHO,

It depends on the content. Blogger is provided by google and in my experience, one of my blog got indexed in google in less than 24 hours. Now my blog has a better SERP position.
