Hey guys i have a few domain questions when it comes to blogger. 1. Do i need to host my own blogger if i get my own domain? 2. Do .com .net .org domains index faster then blogspot? 3. Why do people seem to want to buy .com .net .org backlinks and not blogspot? 4. How do you buy the domain then put it on your blogger? Any video instuction you could send me to. Thanks i dont have any background in the domain biz and its about time i started learned about buying domains.
If you have a blogger blog that does quite well now, there is no need to have your domain, except for more customization. Monetizing blogger with adsense is rather simple. I have my own domain blogs, as well as free bloggers and I must admit the free bloggers have more juice than my domains. Not PR, but SERPS and traffic. I have always thought that google owning blogspot gives it a little more oomph. I am too new to post urls, but go to google help>Blogger help>customize your blog>custom domains>getting started. Since you have no idea what you are doing, buying it via google and getting the instructions from them might be easier. As far as extensions go, there are just more people doing things with dot coms, so you see a lot. But websites are ranked, not domains. I'd probably just stick with the free blogger, but some people like the look, sound, and "prestige" of their own domains. Doing searches on google will produce a lot of free blogspots. Stephen C
How so? Blogger is owned by google and everyone I have got indexed ASAP. What does a paid domain do for indexing quick? Free or paid it depends on the site. And as far as posts go, my free blogspots get indexed within an hour. My domains, wordpress, take at least 2 days. In fact, I switched one of my domain blogs to a blogspot for just this reason. The flexibility of having your own domain will drive you back. If you want just a blog then that will work fine but lets say if you want forum or want to do something custom then you'll need your own domain. indexing goes...there's some many variables on why blogger got index before your own domain I don't know that one. My domains get index fast just matters how you do it and what kind of PR you have with that domain.
If you are a serious blogger then at outset go for your own domain. Otherwise for traffic purposes or link bait, use blogger interface to catch the traffic. In the end, when your blog gets popular, you will have to move your blog to the hosting company with a custom domain. So it depends on your priorities. Best of LUcK!!
My new website im making with blogger to get index quicker i have used -Ping -OnlyWire -Drive Traffic -Built Backlinks This website i have made its only 1 page but i made it back in november. I have waited so long for it to get index and im starting to get mad.
For the tiny price, you're better getting your own domain - it allows you to build a brand. If people see a blogger address, they will perceive your site as being a small time nobody (not surprising if you can't afford $10 for your own domain name).
