Best idea is to buy domain and some hosting with fantastico that lets you set wordpress with one click. Bloggers advantage is that it ranks fast.
I looked at both when I started blogging. Wordpress seemed a little overwhelming initially. I found the Blogger platform very easy for a newcomer. It also has a very easy layout interface where you can monetize your blog with adsense code or a list of other monetization models and links.
When i started my blog i looked at both. Whilst Blogger had the most instant appeal i found wordpress could adapt to the demands i placed on it. I now have a fairly complex blog with static pages, small adverts and a few plugins which helped me get the best of my content. My only problem is i host wordpress on my domain which means i cannot add it o the wordpress domain directory. Marty www.festivalplanet(dot)com
Both are great but you can't use ads or affiliate links on wordpress.com. So if you want to make money with your blog then use Blogger. If you don't care then go with which ever you find easier to use. If you move to self hosting then go with the wordpress CMS.
Blogger is simpler, and seems to rank very well in Google. Wordpress (if your hosting it) is more customizable, can can also be very SEO friendly.
Does anyone know if SEO plugins for Wordpress's blogs increase your ratings by a lot? Or is it just slightly?
Wordpress is good for the SEO aspect, but you are right Blogger is good because it is owned by the big G
I think blogger is better than word press for some reason. blogger is available free but for word press you have to pay hosting. blogger can be monetized but word press can not be monetized if it is not paid. blogger is easy to use and work while word press is complex. blogger is owned by Google which place much worth to it.
If we monetize it, the amount of money we would receive (via traffic) etc would be pretty much the same tho? If we say we didnt use any plugins for WP
I don't think that blogger is best option because it's google own product. I have used both and I will prefer you to go with wordpress because it's plugin and easy to use easy to operate. One more thing that google will not take any kind of favor either you have uploaded blogger or word press all depends on your work and how you have promoted it.
