    statcounter is nice to see last 100 pageloads, you'll have to upgrade to the paid version if you want to see mor. Try to use google anylitics - it keeps your stats forever .

    I've heard that Analytics can slow a pages loading time.
    Is that the same for Statcounter?

    If your script is at the top - maybe yes. That is why you place the script at the bottom - so all your content is loaded first.
