    One question here....
The Right to Information Act can be invoked by the bloggers rite...Are there certain exceptions to what the government cannot give???

Yes gr8liverpoolfan, we can invoke the RTI in this case! I already wrote about it in my blog! Check it!

Ok Guys, I wrote to the chief of CERT-in and NASSCOM and certain people I know who can give me an insight on wtf is going on.

Secondly, if none come forward, I myselves will go ahead and invoke my RTI, anyone willing to come forward as am having certain age issues here.

I had one blog on blogspot which was a music review blog, and am soooo pissed I can't tell you. Will be moving over to WP pretty soon tonight!
Also will move typepad to Moveable type for a friend tonight!

This is getting to the height of idiocy! Stupid political idiots just trying to gain public sympathuy. I have hated the so called Ethicals at CERT since the start, a practically "no-use" organisation that lacks any sort of knowledge or skill to protect any cyber thing in India ...

    F*ck em

    Saw that..Abhishek...:)

But my question is that there are certain bits of information which cannot be given even by RTI right...Can the government include this as a matter of something so serious (national security) that it cannot be obtained by RTI:confused:

I have often seen Indians take pride in being the worlds largest democracy.

This is a great opportunity for the people of India to put this to use.

Here, I've put this website together

    indiacensored.com

I'll likely be promoting it a lot tomorrow onwards.

Check it out & let me know what you think, it will be heavily updated and modified in the morning. I've added links to some web based proxy servers. Tomorrow I'll try setting up a web based & direct IP (on port 8080) one. Please post here if there are any typos or other errors..wasn't exactly sober while making it;)

I'd appreciate if you link to the site. If you started a similar one, or posted about it in your blog..just shoot me an email at contact@indiacensored.com & we can swap links.

    Cheers

When a similar ban was imposed in Pakistan months back , the Pakistani bloggers community tried there best to unblock this by starting a "Slap the Block" campaign, the Blogspot was unblocked for some days but then again fews days afterwards it was blocked and is blocked till now.

India is quite a bit more advanced, as a democratic civilization, than Pakistan.

This is the sort of behavior which you expect from Pakistan, but comes as a surprise from India.

Very surprising, considering the fact that the public was never notified about it, nor was there any media coverage of a due democratic process.

Hardly surprising when a lot of civil liberties were removed in western countries after 9/11.

Governments always want more control and any excuse will do.

They're talking about bringing in ID cards in Australia now. Britain has had ID cards for a long time now and it didn't do squat to prevent the london train attacks.
