What do you mean by "unranked"? Are you saying you used to rank in the SERPs at Google for some particular keyword phrase and now you do not? Or do you mean your PR went from PR2 to PR0? Or do you mean that you PR went from PR2 to "Page not currently ranked by Google".

All three are indicators of different things... But NONE of the three could be influenced by tweaking your <meta name="keywords"> element in the head of your pages. That HTML element is ignored by practically every search engine on the planet.

And which "keywords" are you talking about? The ones in the <meta name="keywords"> element or those listed in your <title> element? Tweaking the targeted keyword phrases in your <title> can affect your rankings in the SERPs, but that would NOT affect your Page Rank.

Your PR dropping will likely be the result of losing credit for backlinks... or the pages linking to your URL have lost credit for some of their backlinks and are now passing less PR to your site... Or the pages linking to you adding new outbound links so they are passing... If your PR dropped to 0 or "Page not currently ranked by Google" could be a sign of a penalty... It could be 1000 different things, and without your URL and keyword phrases that the page used to rank for, any suggestion you get here for how to fix it would simply be a wild guess.

This usually happens when search engine changes it algorithms...you might have tweaked your keywords at the same time.. check for other search engines as well

also make sure that if you are changing your keywords, your meta tags - title , description are also modified accordingly. highlight the keywords in content.. n wait till d spider visits your site again..

    Cheers!!!

tweaking keywords from your meta tag will not effect your SERP or PR ranking.

I'm sure there must be some other reason why your PR dropped or it could be some errors with PR server. Try to check with other PR checker tools. If it is confirmed of losing PR, then it might be from penalty because there are no PR update going on now. Have you been selling links with dofollow links or write any paid post from PPP with dofollow link? That could be one of the reason. You can share your URL for us to find out what really went wrong there.
