What do you mean combination of both? Do you mean to simply include a blog on your "static" site? I keep hearing that relevant content is the way to go with SEO, but with traditional business sites for example, once you write out what you need to say, there isn't much more content you can add. So your recommending to implement a blog within that site as good SEO strategy? Does it matter if its in a subdomain? What if I've been maintaining a separate blog with similar content would simply adding it as a subdomain help out? I'm asking because I plan to use a wordpress CMS for a business and I want to start working on the SEO as early as I can if possible/
