Hello guys! I'm new here and I'm actually not sure if this is the right place for me to ask my question. You see, I'm managing this affiliate site registered and hosted somewhere for some fee. It's hosting will soon expire. Since I find it hard to renew registration, I'm planning to transfer all of its contents to a blog. Do you think this is a practical thing to do? Which one does Google give more weight - a blog or a web site? Will I get more traffic with a blog since it's more popular than web sites? Thanks. Please help me. epithet
I see...If my blog contains the same content as my site is that still OK? I might get accused of plagiarism.... How about no site..only blog? Is that still alright? epithet
I think it depends on your budget and time. If you have more money to invest and more time to spend I think website later will be more profitable, if you are just a beginner then, better to begin from a blog
OK. It seems that most of you are pointing me to blogging. Which can make more money anyway, a blog or a web site? I admit blog are more popular but popularity doesn't mean real traffic and real conversion right? epithet
Does your website have better site traffic, click through rates, and conversions than your blog? If so, you may want to think about keeping the web page active as well as the blog. As FrankyTwoTimes has stated, it's good to have a blog compliment a website but this all depends on the intended purpose. The main objective is to not lose traffic. If you are selling something and you do that, you lose money as well. Hope that helps.
I get it. It's just that my boss wants me to keep only one...and he's more of saying me to just let go of the site itself . Anyway, thanks guys. epithet
