If you want to make an information site where people can discusse stuff. Would you go for a Blog or Forum? why?
Is it possible to use one database, so that artikels, reactions and user account of the blog also work in the forum?
Forum. I tried a blog once, and it crashed. Blog = You must post info and articles. Forum = You must get enough visitors for the visitors to stay and post, so it doesn't look dead!!! (Having a web site with a lot of visitors helps big time!)
@Nintendo I have never had a blog, but I have had 2 forums. Nr1 got 2500+ registerd users within 1 year and about 50 hardcore users (online like 24/7), 500 who came once a week and the rest who came less than once a week. This forum was about breakdance. Nr2 has around 100 registers users within 6 months. No hardcore users, a handfull who come once a week or so. And around 2 or 3 posts a week. So I am the only one that posts artikels and because of the, the forum has around 60 to 80 uniqe visitors a day, but they just come, read and leave. This forum is about education. So for my next project I am stuck. First project was perfect forum, second one would have been better if it was a blog.
start with a blog as everyone says.... see how many visitors u have, keep comments open to everyone on your blog, as and when the number of comments keep rising u can plan to add a forum ..
