I started a blog today: http://vanduska.com/
It has roughly 70 news posts.

In one day 400 (still going) uniques to it.

Here are my tips

• Submit every article to Digg
• Submit every article to stumble
• Use the digg and stumble trade feature here! (freebies forum)
• Use http://pingoat.com/ to submit your articles!
• Use http://www.feedburner.com/ for feeds

Here are the addons I used

• Adsense-Deluxe (to display adsense)
• Dagon Design Sitemap Generator (sitemap gen)
• FeedBurner FeedSmith (feedburner.com addon)
• Google XML Sitemaps (sitemap.xml for google)
• Random Redirect (so i can do vanduska.com?random for stumble trades, and it takes them to stumble a random post)
• Sociable (so people can add your site to social bookmark sites)
• Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger (ping google when you update)
• WP-o-Matic (automatically gets content from RSS feeds I choose)

What did YOU do to get traffic? What addons did YOU use to increase traffic/increase your site overall?

I hope this helps some people, and I hope some people reply with some of their tips.

Good Post. I add a lot of Good Unique content to get traffic I have never done stumble trade or such like though I occasionally have my articles submited to multiple social sites

 

I would also recommend the "All in One SEO Pack" plugin for Wordpress. I get a lot of organic visitors coming from Google on my (relatively) new blog, and I think it's all because of this great plugin.

You should use stumbled trade

 

The key is to keeping the traffic. The only reason you're getting the uniques is because of stumbles -- none of those plugins you mentioned have anything to do with these visits.

 

Actually i get lots from RSS feeds, (addon)
Some from goolge, because i ping them often (addon)
Lots from different social networks cuzz my my (addon)


Don't make moronic comments, unless you know what you are talking about.

 

Your site is one day old and you are getting lots of visitors from your RSS and Google? I certainly don't believe that.

All your traffic is from social networks and it is because you are trading stumbles and diggs, nothing more. The only plugin doing anything for you at the moment is WP-o-Matic because you're scraping all your content from other sources.

 

Look, I'm just trying to help people, because this is what helped me.
I know that you've been struggling with your blog (50 uniques a day), but don't take it out on me or my article.

I would add to your list these two....Akismet and Wordpress stats...or if you prefer put Analytics plugin
