Blog Template, Need Opinion Please

This is the first blog layout I've made so far, does it look alright?

I would say the graphic is slightly overpowering with its "blockyness" and colour. As a result i would say that it may take alot of the focus off the content. I would suggest choosing a slightly less overpowering colour scheme and increase the text area. Other then that i like the concept and believe with some fine tuning you will have a nice looking blog

 

Its making me remember of the Brick games which i played when i was a Kid!

Im sorry but it doesn't look good is not like the designs people make this days to old style :S sorry for saying that :S

I don't really like the graphics, looks like it's made in.. paint or something :/ Looks too old-school-game'ish.
