    Hello DP Members!

We develop blogs and maintain its freshness by regularly updating its content. I have done the same thing. Recently i thought that i could not remember the password and changed it. From that moment i'm unable to open my blog which states that your blog has been suspended.

I'm shocked to see this. I've already written to wordpress.com support, but did not receive any information.

Any suggestions please. Thanx in advance.

This is a forum related to suggestions for DP and not to ask for suggestions about other stuff :D I think this thread would fit better in General chat :D

It happened to me once. You may have done something to violate the terms of service.
The top 2 are, using a blog for or about SEO, and affiliate links.
    Could this be it?

Unfortunate situation. I hope it works out or the best for you. As a rule of thumb try and use your own hosting next time as this can't happen.

I hope it works out I"ve lost stuf before so I feel your pain!

Try posting in the Wordpress.com forums.. usually a moderator responds pretty quickly there and may be able to help..

Quite true, hosting these days is pretty cheap and so are domains. Its better to get both your self rather than the free alternatives, as the paid versions ensure more freedom to do what you want and how you want.

I've also posted my problem in the wordpress forum. I didn't get any sort of reply.

I've lost everything. Hope this situation gives a warning message to the wordpress blog users.

I emailed the moderators or Viceroys or what ever they are, and explained my situation, and they put my blog online just long enough for me to download a back up, around 48 hours.
    Maybe you can try that.

Have you registered the domain, or are you simply looking at the whois details for the domain you want, but have not yet purchased?

Godaddy offers hosting too or any of ASO, Hostgator, Dreamhost, Dream Host, 1&1 will do. There are tons of companies- just take a plan you like. If possible, ensure you have fantastico so that you can autoinstall wordpress. Manual installation is recommended, but automatic will do

I've registered a domain but the problem is with hosting. Should i continue to use the wordpress.com's hosting if i place the affiliate links in the blog? Will it again suspend me?

I don't know much about Word Press hosting, but I would check the TOS just to make sure you have complete control of what you want to do.

Like everyone else mentioned contact WP direct, there's nothing that any of us can do to help you. It's one of the limities of using a hosted version of Wordpress, so I'd recommend getting some hosting, domain and manage the blog yourself so you have complete control.

This is definately a good learning experience for all of us. Getting own hosting and domain name is the best way for people like us who are serious in web business.

One of the draw backs of blogging is there are so many free services that you can set up in a matter of minutes.
I have fallen into the trap a least twice, and the next thing you know I have 30 or so posts, some directory submissions, a little traffic, and now i want to do things that aren't allowed. Now what do I do with my readers?
And I know better. I just did it with my current music blog.
I started it a month ago on free wordpress, and then decided I wanted to develop it more, so I finally got everything switched over, but now the old version on wordpress.com is still getting traffic , and it's getting more than the new blog, and I haven't updated it in a week. 3 days ago, the old blog got like 500 visitors, way over what I was averaging a day, while the new one has barely gotten 150 a day in the week it has been up.
If I had started on my own domain and hosting, I would be at a good level for the first month, instead my readers are split up between the two.

I have my own hosting company that I work with (BiCoastal) but there are a lot of companies that are Wordpress friendly, and will even set you up with very easy to use FTP.
    Just Google "Hosting, Wordpress"
