blog spammers how do we stop blog spammers from spamming consistently . As a WordPress blogger I just built a brand-new blog called KauaiMassages.com/blog my question to DP forum members and fellow bloggers is that anyone know how to stop spammers. Is there a way I can change my e-mail address to make it look as if the notes is basically I'm trying to stop spam if anyone has any updated information about how to stop blog spam than that would be great but. Can someone help me set it up so I don't get that much spam

If you are worried about spamming issues then I will tell you to first install akismet obviously. Secondly, you should also use a plugin called Recaptcha (facebook is one example who is using it, I am also using it in my blog) and you should also set the rule to moderate those comments which has an url within the message. Additionally, you can also add words like "Viagra, fuck, sex, asshole, incest, pussy, dick, baccarat, phentermine, codeine," etc to your list of blacklisted words.

Since I am a frequent WordPress blogger I definitely would be very interested or and please post the direct link to that WordPress plug-in so I can plug it into my seat panel of my WordPress blog thank you very much. I am very worried about the spamming issues that's going on in the blogosphere because people create robots to do this we definitely need to stop the spam spam socks it kills the search engines and all I'm trying to do is prevented from screwing up my blog and everyone else's if everyone knew about this WordPress plug-in imagine how much better blogosphere could be.
Akismet keeps HUNDREDS of spam blog posters away. Wish it brought more real ones...guess that's my job, eh? :-P

Akismet does the job. All you need is an API Key from Wordpress to activate it. Get one, activate it and Akismet will handle spam for you automatically.
I agree thanks everyone for helping me out here on this WordPress topics because spam on WordPress is more likely than spam on any other blog application. I have a feeling that they've created a robot to spam WordPress blogs because people know that WordPress is directly connected to the world. WordPress should be called something a lot more powerful because of its application and what it does and how it gets up into the search engines it's becoming more important to use WordPress blogs but at the same time we need to stop these blog press spammers I have a term for these people that like to spam WordPress the definition for WordPress spammer would be Splogger
Akismet is great it captures hundreds for me too. I will look into the other tools suggested, as anything to kill the bots sounds like a great idea to me. Every now and again a few get through onto mine, but all comments come to me for approval anyway. I never check the spam box I just delete as there is hundreds in there. The capture code could work very well for me. Great thread and replies
