    if the blog is for your website, you could also put it in the domain of your website. Create a subdirectory or subdomain like youdomain[dot]com/blog or blog.yourdomain.xxx

    Go with wordpress they are more flexible and independent than blogger or any other out there.

    Wordpress allows you to modify or customize your blog design, if you own a site already and want to create a blog for it that means with wordpress your new blog can be made to look like your home page.

    It's always best to host your own blog if you have your own website. You loosing link juice and reputation only giving it off to the actual site blogspot.com or wordpress.com
    If you have your own website and are hosting it on a server make sure the server offers mysql and php. I believe by far that wordpress is the best platform for blogs, giving you the best options for serp listings on search engines, etc.

    wordpress it the best blog. there are lot of plugins and themes for wordpress. i suggest you to use wordpress.
