Hey, I own this site, www.leafsworld.com and I just basically wanted to know if I was selling it how much do you think it would be worth exactly. I just launched the site 9 days ago, its had 1045 uniques since launch and has made $14.95 in those 9 days from adsense. Has great content and the domain name is amazing. As well the site has 13 PR 2+ Backlinks so far. Heres a pic of the stats
If the revenue stays consistent, about $500. But don't sell it yet; it will be worth much more after you build links and lift the income.
Yeah at the moment I'm trying to build up links and have a really good page rank for the keyword "leafs nation" since its about a 40 searches/day and only 900,000 sites which is relatively low for a google keyword. Trying to make it a really efficient site.
Only a kid would touch that site with a 10 foot pole. I'm not saying it sucks. It's just the matter of fact that you only have revenue and traffic stats for a week. That makes it worth nothing. It's too easy to achieve this with a new site. Anyone can start a new site, send out emails to every contact, spend 14 hours a day going forum to forum looking for ways to get the site noticed, and submit to hundreds of newer directories. That will get huge results, but there's no way anyone will want to hold that amount of effort. No seller will believe the traffic and revenue will stay.
im not planning to sell it soon, but I meant in like 4-5 months, that would obviously show a traffic consistency. Like why would i fake traffic for that long, let alone ever?
Yeah I would sit on it for a while then try and sell it... dnscoop.com estimates the value of websites but i don't think its very accurate.
may i ask how you got so much traffic in two days? did you pay money for it? cause ive had my sites like almost a year with like 7000 visitors total lol EDIT: and by the way there's some xhtml errors on the front page, not sure about the other stuff. but you might want to fix that.
yeah I'm going to fixing it soon, um basically I advertised on forums, exchanged links with related blogs, e-commerce hockey sites and fantasy hockey places. Put my link up on wikipedia since I offer quality information and just been trying to get the site out there by word of mouth as much as I could. I've spent some money on advertising about $50 but they didnt really advertise me they just gave me link directory links which was so not what I wanted so im getting refunded cause its ridiculous.
oh and just since you said 7000 unique visitors for a year maybe its cause you are using blogger? Isnt it a free blogging tool, might look small, using wordpress is better looking I think and its relatively cheap. Or maybe your just not getting ur site out there some how.
cool, thanks for takin time to mention what you did. uh yeah, i had a good free webhost i was using wordpress on but they dissapeared out of nowhere along with my site -.- but yeah i'll have to get my own domain n stuff.
As others said, I would wait to sell, for the obvious reasons mentioned... Also, unless you are the only one writing the articles and they are unique and not just borrowed from other sources, I would think that selling a niche blog would be rather difficult simply because when you leave the new content leaves.
yeah thats true which is why I'm either going to have to find a leafs fan to buy it off me when I decide to let this beauty go or they'll have to use automated or non-unique articles. But just to mention its not the 10th day and I've hit 1250 uniques so its only becoming bigger lol. More adsense, and entrepeneurs love their adsense.
That's a cool looking site. I think it has the potential to earn you some serious money. If I were you, I'd do the following: 1. Add some contextual affiliate programs on the left sidebar (eg. ticket purchase, merchandising etc.). 2. Change the permalink structure so that the post titles are in the post page links. Example: My post - http://cashmachine101.com/hello/fellow-internet-marketers - is 7th out of 941,000 results in Google for "hello fellow internet marketers" (without the quotes). Google loves blog posts. Just string your main keywords together with hyphens under Post Slug when you create or edit a post. Also, get the SEO Title Tag plugin and add your title under the Title Tag option for additional search engine optimization. It can take a bit of practice to find profitable keyword phrases and write your posts with that in mind, but it's worth it for the free organic traffic. 3. Get the Social Bookmarks plugin so people can add your posts to their bookmark sites for more free traffic. If you want any more advice, I'd be happy to help anyone. On the example post I used above from my blog, I actually offer to help anyone for free. It's coaching but with an informal style. And if I'm successful in helping someone grow their business I'd be happy to write a post about it on my site (free publicity for both of us). Michael Weir
