Blog Question: Is 1 quality article every 2 days enough?

Will, lots and lots of people use blogs to share their articles. It's a very profitable way to post content. With Wordpress you can do it and with a little customization it won't even look like a blog.

 

Ive found it much easier to implement. Also down the road I plan on running more then one, many actually. So far I have the site 50% automated and the rest of it will be 100% within the next few weeks and it wont be obvious to the user that it actually is.

Also the tools available through wordpress, rss feeds, blog directories, and article directories make it much easier for me to reach my target audience. I find it too much of an effort to become an expert in photshop and dreamweaver to actually make a decent looking site. THe WYSIWYG editors are a major crap in my opinion. The plugins alone on wordpress are outstanding and every day the wordpress community are coming out with new widgets and other tools to make the job even easier.

 

If you find yourself comfortable writing one article every other day writing one every day is going to show that it is forced. It is better to keep a regular schedule with great content than constantly updated crap.

 

I have a content writer who is currently writing 60 articles. I have one main theme and 5 sub themes. Each article being different and every day will be a new sub topic.

 

If you choose to pay for your articles, and they are all good articles, then the more the merrier.

 

Yep. You have to realize what your weaknesses are and what your strengths are and writing for me isnt one of them. I dont want to post crap becuase it doesnt benefit me or the visitor.

 

First of all, quantity over quality is key when it comes to blogging.

Secondly, the danger of hiring someone to write articles for you is it cuts off the personal relationship between you and the reader.

I post on my blog about once every three days. Occasionally I will hire some content writers for pages. I keep the posts personal and the pages informative.

I agree with this, establishing a rhythm that suits your routine will increase the chances of your blog being a success. A new article every other day would definitely classify an active blog in my eyes.

 

Blogs are mainly for creating a dialogue with your readers. By publishing someone else's work, you're not really establishing a personal connection with your visitors.

I know of plenty of successful blogs even though they're not written perfectly. A lot of blogs tend to be more informal than a traditional website, so the odd grammatical or spelling error is usually tolerated.

Also, you don't need to post huge articles every time either. A post can be made of a single paragraph if you like.

But obviously, its your choice whether you want to publish your own content or hire someone else to write it for you. But in answer to your original question, I would also like to point out that there are plenty of good blogs that don't get updated every single day. So if you're comfortable with one article every 2 days, by all means keep it up. That's a lot better than a lot of bloggers can manage.

 

How does the reader know I didnt write my articles??? My name is on the articles as written by me. My other posts which arent articles are personally written by me. Its not just article postings.

 

I can tell the difference when I'm on other sites that post their own content and content written for them. You portray part of your personality through your writing and once your readers get to know your style of writing, they can spot when its written by someone else. At least some can anyway. This might not be the case with you as your writing might be the same style as the person you hire. It's just one possible factor to think about.

I'll use Problogger.net as an example. Darren sometimes has guest writers, and without even reading who the author is, I can tell with the first sentence if its not written by Darren.

The lines between blogs and websites are becoming so blurred that your method is completely acceptable, as Tyler Banfield said.

 

You could also try breaking up your articles into smaller parts and maybe even do a series. That would help bring visitors back for the next part of the series and increase pageviews.

You can also take out the date that each post is published, but like I said before, posting every 2 days is still a lot better than plenty of other bloggers. (Myself included )
