Blog question from a newbie blogger

I keep getting this other blog trying to post a comment on my blog and I don't know if this is good for my blog site.

When I make a blog it try's to post my blog at there blog saying look at this blog I found. So I guess this would be a good thing right. What's your comments on this and should I allow it to continue or even happen at all?

I'm thinking this is sort of link development question right?

Yeah...the other blogger is just trying to build some relevant backlinks on your blog comment section.

Is this ok...yes and no. If he actually posts a relevant response to your article, and then puts a link at the bottom, then I say it's ok.

If he just posts the link and nothing else...i'd just delete the comment, because it's not contributing to the betterment of your article.

Just my feelings...you can always head over to his blog and do the same thing to build a few links....little Tit for Tat!!

EDIT: See I'm no pro but I don't think this is a good one because it's a direct link to a competitive site

I took a look....his post is just basically advertising for his article and site...It's more or less shameless spamming...personally I'd delete it, but it's up to you. If someone wants to make a productive comment with a link that's fine but his is just a huge plug for his blog.

I like your blog by the way, it's simple..keep writing good content.

if you constantly get spam comments and don;t wanna deal with it, you can block the person or setup your comments to be approved by you first before being posted. if the comments need approval and doesn;t end up showing on the blog, spammer will eventually give up and you will not have to worry about keep deleting his comment.

Your blogging software should have a setting somewhere that lets you set who can post comments or if they have to be moderated before they get posted. Check your blog settings and i'm sure it's there somewhere.

    i have two suggest.

    * firstly , start to use aksimet , if you are not using it
    * second, add nofollow to your outgoing links and continue to allow them

When I do get the "Spam" It's always from that same site. I will look up some of the plugins that were mentioned here. I bet this technique could be good with a decent blogging site right? Something tells me with the right blog site to team up with that could become a very successful adventure. Am I right would this team work be beneficial for both parties, or all parties if possible?

The thing is though, I haven't seen the post, but it appears to be from your description trackback spam ("Something like 'I found this great post today from (your url), what do you think?").

Of course, from a decent blogging site it could work so well, getting trackbacks from a site that has it's own traffic is a good thing, if you want, you can join a blog network, where members are encouraged to blog amongst each other.

Interesting I will have to look into and possibly consider something like this. I would really like to only find a really good group as I take a lot of time finding my blogging topics :/, In general I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of copy pasters because that's not at all what I'm about!

You're correct that's the exact type of post it was, word for word LOL

("Something like 'I found this great post today from (your url), what do you think?").

    HAHA! I deleted it :)

Thanks for all the info everyone this really helped a lot!

oh yes if I was to search for these specific group would word press .com be a place to look? And is there some private or elite groups I can join? Groups that only take applications maybe, that would be perfect!
