Blog Posts are the best types of links?

The more I look at changes in google algoover time, the more convinced I am the blog posting is becoming more and more important as a link building tool.

Short of homepage backlinks I think blog POSTS (not comments) are the best option for quality links and here's ehy:

    1. The recent Farmer update aimed at nuking content farms - sites that just spew out links to all and sundry. Among them many article directories. I think this is the tip of the iceberg. Anyone here can spend $20 and instantly get an article published to 1000+ article directories in hours.

    2. Blogs posts are all editorial choice, and I've yet to see any real blog networks that allow unmoderated instant approval blogs. At present, all blog posts that get published are published because the site owner wants them published.

    3. Links are natural, in-content and in context with the page. They can aslo be placed anywhere, not just in the resource box.

    4. Blogs allow commenting. this means people can actually iteract with the post - and constantly update the content of the page, drawing G's attention back to it.

I see blog posting as the new article submission - the standard for essential link building. Also because most blog networks cost a bit to use, they don't get as heavily spammed, also, they are usually changing constantly with new blogs being added.

In content, contextually relevant links will become more and more important in my view, and even better if they come from a domain witha decent PR.

Ya thats right. I also think that after google farma update, google now only prefer the link come from unique and relevant content. And it can only achieve by making guest post on relevant blog. I think this one is the best link building strategy ever.

I'm not sure if they are the best links but the points you have listed make it seem like an effective way to generate backlinks. I haven't written any blog posts yet but I might try some in the future.

I made lots of research on linkbuilding. I pointed out below why link from blogs are very useful

    1. If you get link from a blog that relevant to your site then it is far better than you get link from a article directory. Because on article directory there are article publish on different category, but on a theme based blog you will get content on that particular theme. So you can assume why the link from theme based blog is much better.

    2. Next most of article directory publish duplicate content and google do not give much weightage on such type of article directory, but blogs are maintain by blogger and they are very conscious on all those things that google hate.

    3. If you get any free link opportunity by blog commenting or like other way, the resource will be spam within a few days or month. And the backlink value will be going less day by day.

    4. Also now forget to get link from forum, if you can not be active on that forum. Now a days forums are very highly moderated.

There are also many reason why I think link from blogs are much more valuable.

Blogs help both in terms of link building as well as reputation building. A good way to drive traffic to website. And if the blog is integrated to the website, then it gives the signal that the site has fresh updated content often which will entice the crawlers to crawl often.

Folks, it's not just blogs. Sites like Huffington Post, article based sites too. This is the wave of the future. Google didn't buy a blogging company for nothing. They are analyzing the heck out of everything on it's domain. Google Analytics isn't free because they love us. They are using the data to improve search + ad revenue.

Yes, it is true that the importance of blog posting can't be ignored. But think it is so much time taking and in actual sense of the term, is not applicable for us. Normally we control 2-10 seo projects at a time. How many post you may write in one day. 10? Never.

I think getting links from blog posts are better, because not 0PR page can get some 1,2,3 or 4 sometimes 5 or 6 PR after some time, I've seen that kinda inside pages. So if you have a link there, you get the benefit. In forums this is absolutely very rare.

I have PR0 blogs that have original content that outrank PR6 and PR7 sites because they don't update their content. No links to the blog whatsoever. How do you explain that?

I strongly agree with the statement, that in-content links are more qualitative that those from comments.

Ya it seems like contextual links are becoming quite favorable. Do you think this still applies to article directories? I was under the impression that the google update was penalizing links on article sites but i'm not sure how it would know otherwise.

I think that blog posts are a great way to increase the awareness of your blog when trying to attract quality visitors. I know that when I write topical blog posts about my favorite video game it attracts a lot of interested fans who are looking for the newest version.

I say stick with blog posts as a good long term strategy.
