Ok guys, I have a budget of $500.00! What I want to do is start a blog network. This network would consist of only PR3+ blogs and would include several pr6 blogs and possibly a PR7!

I already own the PR6 domains I want to use, and they are currently blogs that I sold posts on using V7N contextual stuff.

These posts I can move to another archive as they are already archived anyways.

So my question really is how can I connected all blogs I want to do this with together with one database? Is it even possible?

    I want to have 30+ blogs all PR3+ at least 5 PR6 and 10 PR5s!

    So please help me out!

I guess they did not even read your post properly. Why do you want these blogs on the same database? Are you planning to show the same content or just share users etc?

Its for a blog network, you sell one post to go on the whole network. one person suggested a rss plugin but I cant get it working. I just need to know the steps to setting up a proper blog network!

Its not the best idea due to doup content but if you want to do it id just set up one blog properly using the instructions and then edit config/dbconnect (Depending on your blog) of all other blogs to connect to the same database. The only problem is that you might need to manually edit blog names etc

    Here is my few cents.
You have to design the tables properly. Lets say you have 10 blogs. On database you have to identify them in some ways like uniqueidentifier or a unique number. So when you save something for example a post you save it along with the unique number of the blog.
One scenario is using dedicated server, so you can get as many websites as you like. There are other ways.
On each blog site you have to set the blog id somewhere. I am guessing you gonna use the same system everywhere. If you use ASP .Net for example you can define the blogId in the web.config.

    Hope that helps.

Hmm, this is turning out to seem more difficult then it needs to be. I will have to do some more research and see if the money one can make off a blog network is even worth it.

wordpress has a function where you can email in posts. If you set all of the blogs to pick posts up from the same mailbox, you would only need to simply email the post to the mailbox and it would be picked up by all of the blogs.

Not sure if this would work, just an idea you might try playing with if the blogs are wordpress.
