When you build link, where do you point your link to? I used to point them to single post because i always build high relevant link. However, my visitor might not be able to find post in similar topic Now i build link for category. I found those who land on the category page visit more page and spend longer time on my blog I 've never build link for homepage, i just don't like that what do you think?
I think you need to build links for both your single pages as well as main page! Probably,what you could do is to links single pages to single pages (i.e. specific topic, highly relevant) and homepages to homepages (broader topic?)
Single pages are useful if you plan on having others (or yourself!) linking to a specific post on the blog, it makes it easy for the viewers to find it and see any comments. If you link to the category, the post may be so old that you will not be able to find it a few months later.
why is that? In different category i run different affiliate program. I want my visitor land on the target page with the right affiliate progarm.
Yeah, and deep links will help you rank for these pages. Are you saying the homepage is not the most important page of a site?
In my case yes. The only purpose of the blog is to earn money for me (does it make me a bad guy?) so the Goal is the get SE send the right guy to the right page. Homepage doesn't mean much for me (for this blog)
