Blog or hosted website?

    Hi,

I am finally going to get into ClickBank even though I have been around here for sometime, mainly reading....

I have recently gotten myself a new g/f so its given me the motivation to try and match my main job wage with affiliate marketing. At the min im probably only averaging between $200-$300 with affiliate marketing in other programs.

The plan was to pick 10 niche and to do bum marketing and decent SEO on these 10 niches.

I dont have much experience with blogs but I do with websites. So im just wondering what is better?

To have 10 blogs, one on each niche.

    Or

1 Main website hub which links to subdomains, on each subdomain is a site that is roughly 10-15 pages for each niche?

Thank you for taking the time to read :)

    LionCirth,

    My recommendation is....

Go to godaddy.com and register ONE domain per niche.
This might be a small investment for you, but it will pay off greatly in the long run. You will be able to get way better generic traffic through having better Google SERP pages for having a matching top level domain having a strong relevance to the niche subject.

Go to dealtaker.com (not my site, btw) and find coupon codes for godaddy.com. you can find a 3.00 off per domain coupon looking for "Go Daddy" coupons.

Install a copy of wordpress on each domain name.

and for hosting, get a service that will allow multiple domains, and if you don't feel like uploading and configuring wordpress, ask if they have a one-click install solution.

Buy cheap hosting like asmallorange.com $25/year or
less reliable $10/year hosting use wordpress or weebly.

Personally I think blogging is the best marketing tools nowadays. Of course you'll have to know how to do it correctly in order to monetize from it.

Between blogspot and wordpress, I think the latter is much better in many ways. But make sure you register your own domain name and hosting for your blog. It's more professional and you have total control of your website.

In short, blogging is an incredibly powerful way to get traffic, get loyal readers and not to forget to make money from affiliate products.

you can get cheap hosting, but the question is, is it reliable?

You can get a decent Virtual Private Server for under $40 a month if you look around. Something that is somewhat reliable, and if you tend to get least a few sales a month, you will be able to recoup the cost, and only push yourself to make more sales.

Also think about this, that $40 a month is for hosting ALL of your blogs, not just one!

Alfi, I absolutely agree that wordpress is the way to go. If you are absolutely horrible with SEO, it is the best way to get traffic to your blog site.

start with 3 niches, buy 2 domain names and one of the domain names
install a wordpress blog and on the other one just use a normal page.
For your third niche use a free blogger blog and see which of the 3
    methods works for you.

If you need hosting try hostgator.com you pay only 1 cent for your
first month if you are able to get a coupon, if you need to register domain
names use namecheap.com or godaddy.com if you need coupons
    check www.hostingdiary.com/2006/08/namecheap_disco.html

    I hope this helps

And even if a few of the niche's don't work out, you could always sell the sites. Months down the road when they have pr and backlinks you can get a decent amount for them, even if the sites aren't raking in the dough.

For the domains you should pick some really SEO-friendly names, i.e "freedogtrainingguides.com". I'll bet you that that's already taken lol, but you get the point.

For wordpress you should really, really get the plugin called "the All in one SEO pack".

First of all yes I use asmallorange and it very reliable but for the $25/year you
only get 75mb of space. Which is enough for me.

Also thanks lemonarian for the plugin.

I started a new campaign 3 weeks ago and actually made my first sale today. I bought a domain similar to the publisher's. I put up 2 Blogger blogs, 3 Wordpress blogs, a Hub page, a Squidoo page and the domain is a redirect to the publishers site.

I think you have to experiment to see what ingredients work best for you. As Brian Tracy says, " You want to increase your probability of success." Good luck with what you decide.

If you would like to save cost, choose a general niche and broken down into smaller niches. For example, choose "health and fitness" niche and create subfolder for each and every of your subniche eg :

    www.healthniche.com/backpain
    www.healthniche.com/acne
    ....

You will also find easier to get content this way with tightly related niche.

    Yup ..

    You don't need 100 domains.

You can get one i.e healthreviews.com, healthreviews.us and add sub-folder for each niche you're promoting or create subdomains.
