What is best for SEO, blog or forum? I prefer a forum, personally. It seems easier to find old posts and you can scroll down the list of threads. Plus, you have sub-forums to categorize. A blog seems transient... like fewer people go back to read old posts to the blog. On a forum, they do. And, it's so easy to add content on a forum, even easier than blogging. Even I never got another member, it would be easy to add content. Yes, it's easy to do on a blog, too. It seems Wordpress is a favored blog software. I could download it and put it on my site. But I was thinking of trying bbPress, which is made by the same group? I have never even seen it in action. But it makes pretty URLs of cryptic URLs. Seems rather simple, which is good. But, site analysis tools never ask if you have a forum, they always ask if you have a blog. Does it matter in SEO?
Well Obviously for SEO Blog with wordpress is the best . That is why there are millions of blogs in the web .
Yaa Both are very important for SEO I suggest you if you are a webmaster then try to do all off page activities like...forum posting, blog posting & commenting, Social book marking and networking etc...
My personal opinion is Blog, it is easy to maintain and you can bring quality traffic by writing articles, tips etc whereas forums has lots of work to do, first you need to promote it so that people register themselves and very hard to monitor and maintain. Also lots of spammers regularly spam the forum and you will keep select and delete such users from the forum. Although this is your choice.
Ideally both, but if I had to choose one over the other I would go with a Blog, you can't really control what your users put on a forum, and forums can take a long time to breathe life into.
Both are good, but with caveats. The question is what is best for SEO, so while this is certainly impacted by users and how they view/use the forums and blogs, the real concern is the SEPOV. As several others have noted, people love forums because of the diversity of discussions, the ease of adding comments or starting new discussions/threads, and--for many--the many dofollow links they can get. But do the SEs love them as much. Unfortunately as is all too often in SEO, the answer is "yes and no." Google and Ask currently seem to place high importance on links from blogs that are closely related to your subject matter - good quality links. Yahoo and Bing also look at quality, but quantity seems to be very important for them too (meaning active forum participation will help here). So I would certainly recommend participating in useful forums but, especially for Google (and they are the 10-ton gorilla in the room, after all), I would try very hard for good links from blogs. Becoming a guest poster on a subject-related blog would be really good.
Blog. You see, compared with blog, a forum is more like a BIG project. In a forum, all users can post the content that they like just following the guidelines of forums, but for a blog, you can start your SEO strategy through some simple plugins, which is really simple.
As for choosing a blog platforum, Wordpress is not only free but is probably the easiest to upgrade if you want to host it yourself in the future. Why mess with it? Additionally, getting enough information on a forum seems like a rather large undertaking if you don't have other people helping. A blog just seems more realistic for most of us.
Blogs and forums both are good. Blogs are a perfect ways to get quality backlinks (dofollow blogs). And forums can help bring smart number of traffic to a website. So it depends whether you need good incoming links or visitors to your site. I bet we need both of them... Yet, most of the blogs and forums are nofollow but still, if they have huge traffic than they can definitely increase our website visits.
