Blog or Forum

I have a domain name which I registered a while ago (Last year) but I never developed it due to time restraints. Now that I have time and would like to develop it. I'm debating between a forum or a blog.

    Domain: egamershow.com

I have a IPB License which I can use for a forum and as for the blog, I'm going to go with Wordpress. I'm an expert in both and I've worked with both for countless years. I have my own IPB Mods as well as my own Wordpress Plugins as well that I use privately, I have not released them nor do I plan to yet.

    What do you think?

    What about both?

    like: blog.egamershow.com

    and www.egamershow.com will be forum.

use the blog for personal updates ,and other stuff.
i think games websites are so popular and your domain can be used for that.

That's not a bad idea at all. I can also do an integration between IPB and Wordpress, so that will work out great.

    Thanks for your input.

You can also have a main website with intros, new releases, etc.. and then have a forum and a blog within it.

I have been thinking about that. But what CMS should I use for the main site?

I'd start with a blog and allow comments. If it gets busy then add a forum to your site. There is nothing worse than a dead forum. Test the demand first with a blog.

IMO, unless you believe you can generate a lot of activity (posts) within the forum starting out with a blog is the better option of the two.

I plan on Using Wordpress as the blog CMS.

And as for forum activity, I KNOW I can generate good traffic. I have many networks that I am connected to, many advertisers to help me, etc.

a blog is short for Weblog and is more of an online-diary than anything else.

A forum (or Board, more properly) is a full-blown dicussion system, with users, permissions, fora, etc
