The best affordable way is to join forums that are on the same topic and add your URL to your signature. This way people who are interested in what you talk about will be seeing your website.

Articles, Link them back to your blog. Link it in forums. Post useful comments on related blogs and post a link back to yours. Submit to blog directories and set up an RSS feed and submit it to to RSS directories.

 

For blogs I recommend to comment on related blogs. There is a good chance that your comments will be interesting for the readers because if you will comment only blogs related to yours you will probably to write about something what you understand well.

This way you get good targeted traffic and quality backlinks (if the blogs which you comment are dofollow).

 

Commenting on related blogs is an excellent idea.
Joining social networking sites is also a good idea to market your blog.

Very true! With a high budget anything is possible. I personally like social networking sites, AdWords, forum sponsorships, etc.

You can do a lot of way to market a blog.

Here are some of it:

- Submit to social bookmarking site
- Comment on dofollow blogs
- Join entrecard
- Concentrate more on targeted keywords and do some SEO on it.
- Try to post at least 3 post weekly (200-300 words/each post)

My blog ranked from 300k to 83k with more than 30k backlinks in just 10 months.

Try to spend more time on it.

It's kind of a hard thing to answer that straight away...Tell us more about this blog...what it is all about, what kind of people are your potential visitors (don't say people who want to date, this is not enough) and so on...

you must have done a good market research and build a business plan on that. And that my friend should be done prior to the building and developing of a website.
