With blogs becoming ever so popular, do you think they carry more weight than normal links? i'm thinking of submitting to blogs and see what happens currently trying to compile a list of blogs that exchange links. but do u guys think its worthwhile? thanx in advance for your advise
Blog links (in the content) are good links to have. http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/text-links-and-pagerank/ http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-advice-linkbait-and-linkbaiting/ Did he say he was selling or offering links?
At the moment only one of my sites a a blog section http://www.365travelinsurance.com/Travel-Blogs-93/4/ its new so has no PR unfortunately i am going to add the blog section to all my sites, so for one link i will give you link back from 4 sites. Please note i only want travel related blogs thank you
I don't think blogs carry more weight to links. Blog are just plain site, no more no less. If blogs to wich you put a link on are topics related to your site, it's will help you. The same for a "non-blog" site. And depends of the nature of the links, editorials ones are the best. IMHO
its not about blogs or non-blog sites. its more about how often does that site gets updated and thus gets visited by bots. While the blogs gets updated much more (sometimes 4-5 times a day) compared to sites which just sites there expect for some updates or addition of new content which doesn't take place as many times. ofcourse calling one thing blog and other site is just your wish if you post news if two different sites
Blogs are different from other static sites in many ways, 1.) They get updated on a more regular basis, in eyes of SEs its good. 2.) Their link popularity is spread across their internal pages very effectively, in recent days this has been put in more spotlight by SEs. 3.) Blogs link popularity, most of time is from similar sites (read blogroll), or links to their posts from similar sites, which makes them authority on particular subjects easily. These point add together are making blogs more effective to advertsie on in terms of text links than non blog sites.
Good "static" sites are : 1.) updated on a regular basis (more than some blogs) 2.) theirs structure spread link popularity across internal pages very effectively (not less than some blogs) 3.) topics related sites (as I said earlier) are not less authoritative than many blogs (full of junk or muti-topics) As jacksmith said it : its not about blogs or non-blog sites. It's about links from "good" or "bad" sites, blogs or non-blogs.
A page is a page and a site is a site. Some blogs are among the biggest and most trusted sites on the internet. Links on great blogs make for great links, but keep in mind that sometimes it's easier to get links on smaller blogs as you work your way up the food chain. Good luck!
Blogs are a great way of building brand identity and a great method of communication especially for growing business to disseminate information across the web.
