First of all - I'm NOT doing any "bad data push" of my own! I'm just wondering whether a link from a blog with it's content being related to a website's content qualifies as a quality link? Thanks.
sizzler_chetan, ive just been looking at your blog, its very good, very interesting, especially the info on the effects of alcohol, and if that pic of an unhealthy lung dosn't wake people up then nothing will. Its good to see someone promoting health for a change. Ive saved it to faves.
They can also reach the top of the serps quickly. I did a link trade where a hardware store put a link mention in a blog post. I a couple days the post reached the top of the Google SERPs for my keyword. I'm still trying to reach the same place for my site. Not as good as getting my site there in the serps but still worked well in getting trafic.
Links from a blog/s related to your website is high quality IMHO, and also, a good channel for crawls. It would be much better if the links are placed on the body if I'm not mistaken
Thanks a lot for your good comments You can check my blogger profile there and check my other quality blogs
Blog can be a good source of quality links provided done in an organic way and NOT used just for the purpose of links... I use blogs (read blogrolls) to get my brand new sites indexed quickly. This really helps me take off smoothly...
A related topic, when a link is in your signiture, do search engines read these and could there be any potential penalty for this?
search engines do read the links in your signature and it count towards your back links. There is no potential penalty as such!
Again, it's all good in my experience. I have and I also manage several sites. All managed differently to see what happens to them. The site that gets the most pages indexed, most hits, most traffic is the one with backlinks coming from all different sources including blogs, SE's, directories, bookmarks you name it. My theory is to get as many backlinks as you can coming from as many different sources you can. The more site relvant backlinks the better regardless what PR it is as long as it is indexed by Google.
