Hello, I have a PR5 website that I'm looking to rank better for certain keywords. Generally we're on page 1 or at the top of page 2 on Google for the keywords we'd like to rank for but we just can't seem to get in the top 5 for the better keywords. We were approached by a company that creates a corporate blog for you and writes in it 2-3 times a week and has a network of other blogs that other people post in 3-4 times a week, each of which link back to your site. I had done a bit of research and this seems like it would be pretty effective in creating credibility for our site with all the links back to us. Does anyone have experience with such a thing or can you give me your opinion of how valuable you think this service would be?
Now, if you review the Google Webmaster Guidelines you'll see a nice section about link schemes. Basically what your trying to do is manipluate search results by creating more blogs "just" to link back to your site and give it Pagerank juice and SEO weight. This company is doing what Google say's an SEO company should not be doing.
Stay away from such things. Be patience. SEO is a long term game. Don't rush or try any grey hat/black hat stuff, you'll only regret it.
a blog network usually have many blogs (sometimes 100s) running on a single class C IP. there are some networks having multiple class C IP but still each blog doesn't run on a seperate IP. google can easily tell that you are getting links from a link farm and most likely those links are paid. even if you don't get penalized, you will not get any benefit out of those links. good things don't come easy. patience and hard work has no alternative in SEO world
Instead of creating a corporate blog why dont you create a subdomain of your blog. As far as hiring a professional is concerned go for it. But it should be professional in real sense
http://www.thinkbigsites.com/seoresults.php ^^ Their results page. I wouldn't normally even consider this sort of thing but their results are indisputably impressive and those results have been attained in a relatively short amount of time. I know Google is really watching those blog posts as I signed up for Google Alerts and there's a whole section dedicated to blog postings. I don't know. Right now we're working on optimizing our pages but it seems like there just needs to be another force driving your site rather than just on-page optimization.
What exactly are these class C IP? On my dedi I ahve 10 IPs available at the moment but only the last digit differs. Wouldn't Google see this suspicious if there's interlinking between sites where only the least significant digit differs?
It would be more effective to get reviewed by an established site and linkback to your site with your desired anchor text rather then create new corporate blogs and make it look real so you could just spoof couple inbound links. Even tho that strategy might work there is still the risk that you might get burned if you get caught. That means that you use one C class. In either case all web hosting companies offer hosting services on shared IPs so Google would not condon that, unless the IPs are the same and even the domain whois is the same (that would be a huge possibility that you have created a network, but I am referring to a good amount of sites interlinking to each other.)
haven't known this info this past days Ive been reading some articles about this stuff anyway thanks for sharing this esp to a newbie like me. Profitimo
