Blog in separate domain name ?

    Hi .. i am trying to build a guitar community around a Tab ando chords site.

    I implemented a blog, in the mydomain.com/blog/ directory... in order to add more content and attract more traffic... .


    is it better to have the blog in there or is it better to have it in a separate domain name ? ?

    where will it be easier to optimize ?

    If you blog niche is related to your main site niche then definately mydomain.com/blog/ works good IMO.

    If its about the same domain then I recommend you use a sub-domain and use it with the same domain .

    it is indeed niche related so i am going to host it in the same domain... another question:

    blog.mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com/blog ?

    My suggestion is go with mydomain.com/blog as that sounds better.

    Agreed. When I first joined DP, I was worried whether I'd remember the domain name because of the complexity. If your content is good, visitors will come no matter what:rolleyes:
