    I don't see why I would go for a blog hosting, when other hosts support blog installation as well.

    Certainly you'll want some pretty bulletproof spam plugins. In terms of admin the plugin commander plugin lets you manage sitewide plugins, and therer are a load of good ones which let you choose which menu items your users can control.
