What topic are you passionate to write about? You need to think it through before starting it out.

To find a good niche with high CPC and easy to rank use a keyword reaserch tool such as Long Tail Pro.

You should be writing about a topic that you are an expert it and can make a valuable UNIQUE and COMPELLING contribution to the web on. That is what adsense are looking for.

As for topics, as other have suggested, it's good to write about things you like, are interested in or have knowledge about. You don't want to get into a certain niche that you know absolutely nothing about because if you do then people will soon find out that you don't know what you are writing about.

If there isn't something that you like, are interested in or have knowledge about then you can look for something that has a lot of available information and other resources to help you out.

Tech is always a good field, but there are a lot of people that blog about that so it's going to be competitive.

    just being honest

as above poster says, write about something you are an expert on or visitors won't come back

and no one is going to give you one of their good niches because you will be competition to their sites

Write about something that you are passionate about. You'll last longer in the blog game if you create something that actually interests you versus making a blog for the sole point of making money. Making the blog about your interests come first, making money second.

If you want to make a successful blog keeping in mind adsense earnings, i would recommend you to make a blog about technology. This is because such a blog will attract visitors from all over the world and one more thing is that technology is searched on google and other search engines very much. Another good way of deciding what category blog to make is that open up google 2-3 times and typee in something that you want to search because most people will think the same way. See what categories your fits in and make a blog on that category!

Ps: ignore the spelling mistakes. :)

Extraordinarily bad advice. Perhaps you can come over to Google's own adsense help group and explain to all those with tech blogs that routinely get rejected from adsense that it was a good idea to start a tech blog.

Living in Pakistan, I've only come across technology blogs which are having adsense ads. An example is jailbreakstation.com. So keeping in mind those factors i recommended him this category. Peace

Its still really bad advice and you should not be giving it.
New tech blogs are almost always rejected routinely by adsense .

Basic checklist for picking your niche:
    • You know lots about the niche, infact, it's your passion. Your family are sick of hearing you chatter about it.
    • You have access to the very latest information
    • You have the skills to write knowledgeably and entertainingly on the niche (doesn't have to be English)
    • Nobody else is in this niche and doing it well - this will involve lots of research
Therefore - don't touch technology because there are thousands of blogs doing it - or pick a tiny corner that nobody has touched but which does have a community interesting in reading more.
Don't touch cricket or soccer - there are thousands doing it

The readership doesn't have to be huge, and the revenue per click doesn't have to be huge. Target the huge ones badly and you'll get zero clicks. Target a low paying keyword well and you'll get the clicks you need.

No, it definitely doesn't! It means you're watching what your colleagues are working on and blogging weeks or months before the official press releases come out.
