Half way to my goal? Yeah, I wish. But then again, I pretty much stopped promoting it once I discover that my original calculations were so off. So instead of trying to "beat a dead" horse, so to speak, I want to instead place that time and energy into a new experiment. I have a pretty full schedule with my main sources of income. I wanted to use an additional 30-45 minutes per day (apart from my normal IM activities) to experiment on different strategies I would like to try firsthand. But to answer your question: Today is Day 14. I have made a grand total of $0.43 (two Adsense clicks). So that makes my daily average $0.03. That's just $24.97 still to go. But, I still have 76 days left to the deadline, and a lot can happen in that amount of time. It will be interesting to see where I am at on day 90. Best wishes, Joe
I think bum marketing is great, I have made some money doing it and I will continue to build new sites and promote new products with it, if not I am just leaving money on the table..
This was a really interesting thread and a great experiment. Love to hear from any future or previous experiments as well.
Hello All, For those that are interested, I started a new blog experiment. You can see it here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=9048429#post9048429 This one is different than the first experiment, and you can join along too. Best wishes, Joe
Hey Joe - power to you, great thread! Remember you have already earned a great deal from this - knowledge and experience - those 2 are literally priceless! keep up the good work
Your problem is that you want to start making money at the very first days and with 2 articles!!!! I have a site that is now on the 78k Alexa's rank (i get something like 6k daily visitors), but that takes time. I think the problem in your experiment is that you expect too much, doing not much and want it veeery fast. I think that the lesson here is: need to work hard and be patient. All this SEO are slow.
You are wrong. Per example, if some site get high rank for the search "fast sport cars" without quotes, its maybe because they have backlinks with that phrase EVEN IF THE PHRASE IS NOT IN THE WEB PAGE. Using quotes drive you to an error.
Wordtracker and any keyword tool associated with their database is pure B.S. I got duped a few times. Use the Google tool.
