    Joe

Good luck to you and others who are conducting the experiment.

The very first obstacle that people face, is that they don't do anything and just spend time reading forums and ebooks, so congratulations on overcoming that obstacle as I can certainly see that you are very determined and doing daily work with a plan in hand.

Just to be probably provide some feedback and possible say what I would different with your experiment

    1. i would personally have bought a domain name with keyword in url and hosted wordpress as it is much more SEO optimized as compared to blogger and you can have a much more optimized pinglist. That would also give a more professional look to your website and if at later date you want to sell links on your website, its easy and generate more income to you.

    2. I would personally create about 10 quality posts first and then go on a spree to generate backlinks from web 2 properties for about 1 week and create about 50 backlinks

    3. then after that, as long as you continue to create fresh content, google will continue to love you and there will be less need of constant backlinks.

But anyway, we all are different and I wish u all the best with your efforts

    Cheers

    Update:

I wrote and submitted one new post yesterday, and another today. I also pinged my blog afterwards.

So here are my totals so far for the blog:

    Posts Published: 9
    Posts Needed: 50
    Articles Pending: 1
    Articles Live: 0
Percentage of Phase 1 Complete: 18%

I'm curious as to whether I am receiving any traffic so far. I have not been writing in a general matter within my niche. Each of the posts are centered around high search demand/low competition long tail keyword phrases. Every single one of them.

I use the keyword phrase in the post title, as well as in the beginning, middle, and end of the posts. I'm not just throwing them in. I make sure that everything flows smoothly and is easy to read.

    Best wishes,

    Joe

    Doc,

At this point, I am not tracking traffic at all. I wanted to focus on creating the 50 posts first. I didn't want to get dissuaded if I didn't see early results.

I'll definitely check out the tool you mentioned when I do start recording my traffic stats. Right now I am squarely focused on content creation.

    Best wishes,

    Joe

I think that I am going to stop updating this thread. Not because I believe that there is anything wrong with the plan or my actions.

There are just too many idiots complaining about me keeping this thread going. And they are blatantly lying just to make themselves look better in some dumb thread they started. Retard said that I told you guys that I was taking you to the "promised land." Jesus.

All I was trying to do was document an experiment I was doing. I already make a fulltime income from the internet, and have been for a few years.

I wasn't promoting any products or offers. Just trying to make an interesting read for those that like to see all the details involved, and the results that those actions cause.

But for what? So I can get some idiot to call me out. Screw that.

Rule 1: If you choose blog topics based on their "market size"; you will fail. Once you understand that, you'll actually start on the right track. Instead your going backwards right now.

You cant let people who are getting everything all wrong get to you. Continue to document you progress. I, and many others, are waiting everyday for a new update and to see your new discoveries. If anyone thinks you are trying to promote a product, you never throw out an affiliate link, they are just stupid idiots that have a weird way of thinking and are probably jealous because you have so many people looking up to you and waiting for what you have to say.

    Please continue.

    Joe,

PLEASE keep this thread updated. For those of us who matter, we'd like to follow along the progress of your blog and see what results you can come up with as time goes along. I myself would like to see how well a seasoned vet like you can compete in a saturated niche using free marketing methods. :)

Guys, he hasn't explicitly mentioned this, but he is a big dog that fares well in niches we'd only dream of being able to be competitive in -- and he can do it without spending a whole lot of dough. He's not overhyping himself claiming he's going to make $30,000 in 1 month by selling a damn ebook, so there's really nothing shady going on here. Everyone's here to learn how to become a better webmaster, right? Well...let's learn. :)

JoeMack, I had been closely following your postings on this thread and your previous experiment on http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=980479. Judging from the posts, I can see either support replies, suggestions or positive criticisms. I can deduce that whoever is jealous of your progress is communicating to you either via PM or email. That is the first sign of cowardliness shown by these people. Please do not cease updating the thread because of these cowards. If they are man enough to come out and post in public, I invite them to say what they had said to you in private. You will certainly see the backlash from your "fans" and these guys will have no where to run.

Please keep posting your progress. This will no doubt turn out to be one of the most interesting and important threads for upcoming web designers/developers as well as the established ones too. Your progress inspired me and others to begin our blogging adventure. Please keep posting and ignore these people.

    Please :)

BTW, I guess no one has replied to one of your queries here:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=8864427&postcount=15

I'll also like to know the answer to this question :)
