Hey guys - I've just started a blog about 8 days ago. So far it's only had 39 visits (10 visitors). I'm looking for a way to increase my traffic. I have a PPC campaign going on google right now with almost 10,000 impressions and not even a single click. Given only 80 of those have shown in searches and the other 9920 have shown in content. I have also been tweeting the article everytime I write a new one (mostly one or two a day) and have just submitted an article to ezine. Anyway, would you guys mind critiquing my blog and giving me some tips on increasing traffic?
I have also noticed that Google is beginning to pick up on the site. Now if I type "site:url" into google it comes up with each post and the homepage as well. A few days ago it returned nothing. I assume that's good?
Update again (sorry): I started a new PPC campaign and so far (at 2am central) I have had 58 impressions via search and 3 clicks (almost 6% CTR), but no revenue on Adsense or CJ - normal? 2:35am Central - 262 impressions and 8 clicks. According to google analytics, 6/8 (only six have registered with analytics so far) have a bounce rate of 100% and 0 time on site? People clicking on ad then hitting back? How rude!
Thanks - what do these numbers sound like? Just For Today - Google Analytics: 19 Visits 38 Pageviews 2 pages/visit 78.95% Bounce Rate 4:08 Avg Time on Site 14 from search engines (12 from cpc - 1.5 pages/vist, 83% bounce rate, 54sec on site) 3 from direct traffic 2 from referrals CJ: 45 Impressions 1 Click 2.22% CTR $0 Commissions Adsense: 5 Impressions 0 Clicks
URL is in sig Heart Health (post things about conditions, labs, procedures, lifestyle, and current news/research)
Stop adwords RIGHT NOW! You can get banned from adsense for buying traffic for a site with adsense. Also, you will pay a LOT more than you will make. To make real money, post your articles on you blog, then a few web 2.0 proporties. I suggest two or three. Also ping every post and submit the RSS feeds of EVERYTHING to RSS directories. That works very well for me.
Ok I wasn't aware of that...never had a problem before, but maybe it's because i've never made that much
good job.. keep it... you will notice that as time goes by you will increase traffic in your site and eventually be successful.. keep it and continue what you are doing... focus on keywords.
Stats as of now Started website on Dec 29, 2009 and to date (Jan 5 2010): CJ: 126 Impressions, 1 Click, 0 Sales Google Analytics: 30 Visitors 67 Visits 4 pages/visit 60% bounce rate 50% Search Engine Traffic 43% Direct Traffic 7% Referral Traffic Google Adsense: 96 Impressions, 0 Clicks What would you guys make of the numbers? Any certain area I need to work on? Any advice at all? I have the SEO plugin for wordpress and it seems to be working very well. Adsense ads are very targeted (compared to previous sites i've worked on)
