Blog content

    Hi,

I’m fairly new to blogging and still learning alot along the way. As it stands, I have set-up 6 following different blogs all for one site to test how easy each one is to create and maintain. They have all been set up for one site that I want to drive a lot of traffic to.

So far, I have set-up blogs with the following providers:

    Blogger
    TypePad
    Word Press
    MovableType
    LiveJournal
    MSN Spaces

My understanding of blogging is that it goes a long way to helping you get spidered and ranked quickly in the Search Engines because they love the fresh content.

I have a question regarding the content of blogs:

I believe (In my humble opinion) that my site has good enough content, so what I have done so far is to copy and paste every page of text from my site into the blogs and have a link directly to my home page in the footer of each post on the blog post.

But now I am wondering if I am going about it the right way. Would I be better to add a little bit of text from each page then have a direct ‘Read more’ link to the exact page on the site, in order to drive the traffic to it and remove the home page link from the footer of each post?

Also, is it beneficial to have 6 or more different blogs running to one site or am I just wasting time setting these up because they all have exactly the same content? Should I be concentrating only on one or two specific blog providers rather than trying to use every provider available?

The reason I ask is because I have 30 Adsense niches sites that I am going to set-up blogs for, and I don't want to be wasting my time setting up different blogs if its not neccesary. I will be using RSS2blog to add content to these blogs.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Stuart

If you have 6 blogs set up with the same content, you are actually hurting yourself. Your blogs will probably not be indexed or ranked well by the SE's, due to the fact that they are duplicates.

Keep one blog and remove the other 5. :)

It seems like your biggest problem would be duplicate content.

Your 6 blogs are hosted on the same server? Domains all owned by you? Or subdomains? GoogleBot will suss out that they're all from the same "shop"

Go back to one, and do it well!

What if you set up multiple blog accounts then use the same word prior to naming your blog ie.

    bobsblog-adsense.blogspot.com

    then

    bobsblog-politics.wordpress.com

    and so on, etc...

will you still be considered a dupe?

I think they were talking about content rather than the URL.

You should probably rethink your plans after reading something more about the subject, even on DP.

Google will penalize you for duplicate content firstly.

Secondly, I would probably do a summary of the article on your website with a read more option. If a visitor can get all the information from the blog, why should they visit the site?

You can use the blog as a front for your website with links to other pages or products that you are selling. I do recommend keeping the content fresh as it will inspire visitors to keep returning.
