Blog comments/sig links pointless?

    So, I've just been experimenting with blog commenting recently to see how effective these types of links are.

    I'm curious to know what other people have found, and how much success others have had with blog commenting for SERP improvements.

    I've acquired do-follow links nested within the body of blog comemnts (not authour/name links, but links imbedded into the comment) from thisng like Pr3 Pages of PR6 blogs with very few other comments, and have seen little or no improvement in SERP's so far.

    Are blog comments worthless in terms of SERP's? what about Sig links?

    Forum signature & blog commenting links are helps to get backlink & traffic for your website. If you are comment on the niche related blog then backlink is consider as a quality backlink...

    of course they are not pontless. maybe you need more links to see results, but they are good backlinks for sure.

    Actually it's not completely useless as i would prefer to go along with the commenting as against posting signatures. The main reason for this is that signatures is mainly aimed at people whereas blog commenting can help in building backlinks

    commenting on other blogs can also increase your disclosure and help you acquire new links. Signature links help to increase website traffic.

    Its not useless , though if you comment on an unrelated blog or post in low quality forums then it may not make much of a difference to your rankings.

    Blog commenting really helps to improve serp, and moreover if you put your comments on articles that are about the same subject.
    But these backlinks usually take time to appear to Google and to the other search engines so follow on commenting (always try to say something useful for the subject) and be patient to see the results.

    I'm not a big fan of blog comments

    But sign do work very well

    Anyway the key is diversity/quality/qyuantity most people expect afther 100 blog comments to be #1 when in most niches that = 0 .... it all depends on were and on how many sites you put your link and offcourse the competition of your keyword(s)

    In my point of view if you are getting links on high PR blogs then it will increase your ranking, whether it come from blog or website.

    Both of them help but link from a related niches has a better effect on the SERP.

    If you mean how many posts do you need to make before adding a signature, it varies from forum to forum, but usually in the region of 10-50.

    Blog comments and forum links both will improve the ranks in SERP's. But most of the blogs put no follow attribute..so just check them before posting..

    Yes, blog comment and forums posting booth are good way for build back link and increase visitors for your website. Time of blog comment you need to post comment on them base blog and comment should be related to post.

    I would have expected to see more improvement after getting some of the se links. I'm talking about 10+ links from PR3-4 pages of PR6+ sites. In some cases the blogs are on PR8 sites!
