every link counts - some more and some less, i think it is only natural to get links from lots of sources.
wow.. i think blog comments are really useful!! just look at my thread : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1804319 there are my customer have great result after hire me to make some blog comment on high PR site...
That experiment is trollin', of course blog comment still helps and saying that it is useless is misleading.
Given that the google algorithm is a highly complex element it is impossible to say that blog comments are now defunct, what evidence do you have for this and how can you demonstrate that this is linked directly to a drop in your PR or SERPS ranking? The truth is that no one factor is responsible for page rank.
Blog comments are still an effective means of getting traffic whether or not they help you in Google SERPs.
I still consider blog comments as a good way to increase the networking of your blog/site with other blogs on the internet. It still helps me when these are done on a high trafficked blogs... in terms of visibility! Regards, RightMan
Considering most of the internet is either in blog or forum form I find this thread extremely misleading. Blog commenting is alive and well as long as you actually read the post and make an educated comment. Direct/referral traffic is just as important as SE juice/traffic. Don't limit yourself to one source of traffic/backlinking method. Matt
blog comment are good if you own that blog, more keywords are posted about the topic which helps that article receive a higher listing. it also tells google you have unique content updating on that article.
Blog commenting i think is pretty much useless. Not because google doesnt account for them. I dont buy that...but just because its a slow process to build blog comment links. Out of every dozen you do maybe only 2 are approved these days no matter how much you put into them to make them less spammy. Then most blogs are now no follow so its not helping your PR any. And spammers have made it so your quality comments are often over looked as well. Not worth the time to even try with blog commenting as a seo strategy
Blog commenting is one of link building methods. It contributes to ranking if "dofollow", but you can't expect a high contribution from them as there are too many outbound links flowed from the page.
I'm doing blog commenting but I think there's nothing wrong with it. As long as it is do follow google count it as backlinks.
I think if we comment on relevant do follow blogs, we get at least little traffic and a little SEO value.
well i do not think so. Do follow blog comments are working like a charm. No problem at all. and also in SERP it showing its impact.
We ran the same experiment, and the results in Yahoo were great, in Google a bit worse, but still it works.
Blog comments are less valuable than they used to be cos of spamming. However they are still valuable as part of a mixed backling program...
I did postings in do follow blogs and now they are being converted in the no follow blog....will this effect my website ranking in serp and my website Page rank...?
