I know its best to target Do Follow blogs that are related to your niche, but say I found a page with PR5 and it wasn't related to my niche will it still be of some benefit?
Ok thanks very much. Shall get on with getting some one way back links. Any idea how often google indexes the links?
I hope it helps because I have done plenty of blog comments but haven't much results and feel it is almost not even worth it!
High PR pages always sucks people in because you can look at your little google toolbar and think "wow PR = 5 that's really going to help my site" when in reality PR isn't that important anymore. What you want are dofollow links from sites and pages that rank high in the search engines. Especially in google.
Is that page's PR or the main page's PR? If the domain abcd dot com have PR5 does not mean that you will get the backlink from PR5 site. You must refer to the page that you are going to comment on. If that particular page have PR, then you can tell me secretly in PM... hehehe
In my opinion you should not worry so much about PR or do follow - you should try to find blogs that are both relevant to your site and busy with traffic. Also, if you post comments write thoughtful ones that contribute to the blog.
even if its not related to your niche, it will still help you and if the anchor text is related to your site it will help in the serps
the 'weight' won't deviate based on the context, but how your site gets promoted in searches WILL. So in effect, a backlink from a page with a related theme to your page will be better than a totally unrelated one. If you think abouyt it, this is what happens naturally, so search engines tends to try and take advantage of that. I mean, your page about 'dog walking services' might have lots of links to sites about dog trading, dog leashes etc, but probably not many to sites about v1ag5a.
it may not benefit your PR rank but it certainly will give your site exposure and potential traffic so it never hurts
In my opinion nothing wrong if you get a backlink from a non related site, though it may be little less valuable than related site.
I use a blog comment software, does any one know how to find out the "unknown" attributes of a blog. For instance, I always return back "do follow" - "no follow" - "unknown". How can I find out the specifics of the unknown?
