Blog commenting with a simple twist

    Hey guys,

I thought I'd share this tip.

We all know about blog commenting. Sure, it's no follow mostly, but it is still very useful.

I have a method I use with a very simple twist.

Think about what you do right now. I have spent lots of time searching for blogs that are highly relevant, using Google commands or Google blogsearch. How many of those are splogs that you need to filter out? How many of those that you find actually match what you are looking for.

Instead, I have a simple method that you can use indiscriminately, without thinking about it or filtering anything. It comes very naturally to you. It is so simple that I cannot believe that many others are not doing it!!

Check it out and I hope you like the tip. Please no dumb responses like "I knew that already". If that is the case then can you honestly, hand on heart, tell me that you are definitely already doing that? I doubt it.

A useful tip I tried it on your blog but will be hoping that other bloggers will allow me to put my site name as mine. I will definetely give it a shot though

    Sure thing Erik.

Half of it is to leave a comment worth moderating (or not deleting). If you leave a one liner then many webmasters will delete your comment. If you leave a few more words, your personal opinion, relevant to the post, then no webmaster would delete the comment. If anything, it will enhance the SEO of the page.

Are we sure that bloggers will leave our URL intact when it clearly says to place your Name?
It might work for personal blogs but you will have hard time to promote sites in specific niches.

I thought I would really see some 'twist' but was disappointed. Isn't that plain old blog commenting. Many people don't like keywords in name and URL will definitely not be appreciated.

emm... your tip is maybe good for newbie... but i doubt I will allow people leave comment on my blog with name like "profit with james".. this sounds too spammy.

You need to get a feel for what the blog will allow and won't allow. Also, look at blog comments not just for backlinks, but building reputation and bridges with other bloggers that may pay dividends down the road.

I use this strategy already. Most blogs do accept you to write a blog name in the name field and also add a link to your site underneath your name in the comment. Just remember always to write a useful comment otherwise it would look like a spam message and would not be accepted. This way search engines will associate your site name (which hopefully includes some relevant keywords) with your URL, which will help in rankings. Much better than having your personal name associated with your URL as you are probably not seen as the GURU in your field yet.

I personally dislike it when people place their site name as their name on my blog. I don't know, but it just makes the overall feel of the page really splog-ish, especially since I get plenty of "Low Insurance Rates" and whatnot.

I agree. That's why we cant blame blog owners to put the blog comments in moderation.

If the blog has a really high page rank, I have sometimes found it's just better to put your name... This way,
you know you'll get the link..

Type in Taylor Thompson into Google. I am on page two. (video blogging tips dot com.) because of all the comments.... lol :)
