I don't necessarily condone or recommending using either of these techniques for any of your SEO campaigns, but both are very common these days. I know one guy that just buys links and has great results. I know another that simple relies entirely on high pr do-follow blog commenting to get rankings. It's interesting to sit back and see both working and wonder which one is better in the short run, and long run. Do-Follow Blog Commenting Pros Free Endless amounts Provide nice quick boost Cons Short term value (most won't stay) Spammy technique (In googles eyes) Blog not related to your site High PR blogs that allow do-follow links are hard to find Paid Link Pros Can buy in your niche market Carry heavy PR strength for your keyword Will stay for a year Cons Can get penalized or banned Against Googles terms of service High cost I'm interested to hear what your experiences have been, both positive and negative, using either of these techniques while trying to get keywords ranked.
You are true about both methods. I am generally using mix link building methods. So I will use methods like forum posting, blog commenting, article marketing, etc. Different SEO firms use different methods. We cant say which is the best.
couldnt agree more. For me I choose both! Why not have a little of everything, especially when one is free?
I avoid paid links - blog comments every time. Paid links are reasonably easy to detect and as geester1 said above - they WILL harm your site.
Blog Commenting is better , in backlink we can see blog commenting got a good scope. Getting paid links will decrease our ranking etc if our competitor proves that evidence that we have done paid link building
You will never be banned for paid links if they are placed in relevant surround text on the websites that are related to your topic.
Getting back links are important for every site. Do follow are really good and no follow links will be counted up to some extent. And if you have links in less edu sites, that is more valuable than having a links in many normal blogs and sites.
Blog commenting is a good way of promoting a site but there should be quality comments in order to go through the comment approval process. Anyone knows about the best blog commenting site ?
Blog commenting is also a powerful technique in seo. The advantage is that it is of free of cost. And good source of traffic when we post our comment on do-follow blog. But try to see that you post in the relevant category(niche).
Buying Text Links I used to buy text links from other related sites and was able to get good results. But as you start to buy more links, the monthly fees add up and become too costly. Problem: Once you stop paying, your links on those sites will be removed. Blog Commenting Blog commenting has to be one of the easiest ways to get related links to your site. All you need to do is to leave a comment on related blogs and include some anchored text linking back to your site. The other advantage is that some of the pages that you comment on have high PageRank! Problem: It is time consuming to manually search for blogs related to your site.
Paid blog comments are obvious spam, but sometimes work. Though 1 good comment on a high PR blog can be more effective than 100s of spam ones.
Question do you post on a news story? Do you just afford them so that it does not get political? Chris
This is quite true. Blog comments and specially high PR blog comments are best and cheapest source for your website to get quick SERP's .. Paid links on other hand, being expensive enough, also makes you prone to getting your site banned in SE.. I think Blog commenting are the even best sources if you compare it with other ways to build links
If i have to choose, I do the same as you are.. The reason is that you need to work hard in ethical way but gradually it effects a lot.
