Blog Commenting Vs Forum posting

I have to say forum posting works better for me.

 

I'll vote for forums because it will also give you traffic, especially from high populated forums and the traffic is targeted.

For blogs, the visitors not as many as forums, some of the visitors don't read the comment and wordpress blogs are nofollow by default. Not all nofollow links will be counted as baclinks and comments waiting for moderation. However if you can get do follow from high PR blog then it's better.

 

Diversity is most important, so it would be a good idea to get backlinks from both sources. They both have their pros and cons, I've noticed in my studies that building backlinks by blog commenting tend to get indexed more quickly, but the only thing about blogs, is that the webmaster of that blog can turn links from do-follow to no-follow at any time or the webmaster might not approve your comment, which means it was a waste of time posting in the first place.

I want to go with forums posting because in blog commenting there are some issue like moderation, some time we can not get approval so it takes lot of time so forums posting is far better then blog commenting.

 

Blog commenting is the better way to go I think. Although you should do a little bit of both.

 

Like everyone above me, if I had to choose one, I would go with blog commenting. However, you can't ignore the power of forum posts either. Use both.

 

In terms of SEO niether matters. Both of those offer "nofollow" links meaning they pass no value to your website. The only way to get link juice is via other blogs and websites talking about you. Contact some local bloggers and get them to mention you. It's a lot more work but far more effective.

You can also try guest posting. Write content for another blog and they might publish it with a link in your author profile.

 

In my opinion, forum posting is better. Forum posting attracts more viewers. Spamming and blog commenting often go hand in hand.

Blog commenting is better than forum posting. Blog comments is read by everybody while forum postings are kinda limited to the community only, unless of course the thread was indexed by Google.

 

I think both the things are not worth. they have less importance now a days but still keep posting in blogs and forums, there is no harm in it. And also try to comment in do follow blogs which is very useful.

 

Both are important.there are many blogs than forums. and the area they covered is larger than the forums platform, just like aley said.

 

To me the forums are more fun to participate in so I tend to favor forum posts,just make sure you add value to the forum (no spamish stuff)

 

Both Blog Commenting and Forum Posting are used for creating the Back links.But i think Blog commenting is more useful.

If you are focusing on blog comments than look for auto approve blogs.
If you are targeting manual approval blogs than u need to read that blog posts and then post comment.

just praising that blog or copyig above comment wont help you much in approval.

 

Exactly. I'd use both of them which would be also good for backlinks.
