Blog comments are backlinks, regardless how you look at them. However, the value of those backlinks are highly debatable. I personally consider blog comments to be a low end quality backlink, and again it depends if they are dofollow or nofollow; again that is also highly debatable. Considering spending your time writing quality articles and submitting them to high end article directories. This doesn't mean write one article and submit it to all the article directories; write ONE article and submit it to ONE directory; make sure to link to your homepage and one inner page via this article. I find that articles are a great way to get initial traffic; if submitted on the right directory it can get a decent amount of traffic and be then considered a "relevant" backlink.
Thanks for your advice. Submitting articles to the directly can caused it being copied, therefore no more unique. Correct me If I'm wrong

I think blog commenting is very important for SEO. but the condition is your comment should be useful, relevant and not spam. Also participate in the discussion and response to the query in discussion. It wil send you quality traffic. I guess link to specific page is much better option.
