i often see comments on people bling like: [...] some text here that was in the actual blogpost[...] Does that mean that the person who left that comment quoted the original blog post and is letting the author know? What is the general thoughts on these types of comments, are they spam? Also, should i care if a person is copying entire posts of mine? For example, this guy is posting my posts from my free stuff blog (www.free-stuff-finder.com)to his blog word for word: http://cashbackmoney.com/ A. will this hurt my SEO by duplicating my content? B. is there anything i can do to stop this guy? C. should i care? thanks!
When you get those comments check the url - it's probably either yours and is an idication that you've linked to one of your own posts, or it will show that another blog has linked to your post.
Is this guy linking to you (giving you credit) ? If not, contact him and tell him it's not good I don't think it will affect your SEO rankings though. I had one guy entirely copying one of my posts, but he put a link to my site so it's fine with me.
I think this has nothing to do with spam sort of thing. Orginal text is generally quoted to highlight that particular point in the whole post. It's just like I'm replying to your post and quoting your message above. Yes, you must care! Though it's not affecting your SE ranking, but it's considered as intellectual theft. You better ask the guy to remove the content, or better give you a link back.
